A Bowl of Good, located in Harrisonburg, VA, has garnered a loyal following for its wholesome and locally sourced menu. Customers praise the café for its vibrant atmosphere and the warm, friendly service that creates a community feel. With options like the Bada Bun Bowl and Saigon Gyro Sammie, patrons find healthy choices that don’t skimp on flavor. The gluten-free muffins have become a staple, often selling out due to their popularity. Reviewers emphasize the café's commitment to fresh ingredients, noting dishes like the Maharaja Bowl, which some say taste remarkably authentic compared to traditional Indian cuisine. Regulars like Kay appreciate how the pre-made meals provide comfort during life’s transitions, while Andrew highlights their broader community role, including a nationwide frozen meal delivery service. However, some guests, like Mark, have pointed out occasional service slowdowns owing to the complexity of the dishes—though those in a rush can take advantage of the grab-and-go section. Overall, A Bowl of Good stands out as not just a place to eat, but a beloved gathering spot in Harrisonburg, making it a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike.

For a healthy alternative A Bowl Of Good is a great option. Fresh and clean menu with a variety of choices. I've been won over with their AMAZING gluten free muffins (which are regularly sold out.) the dining area is open, with some cafe tables out front (plus a piano.) The staff are lovely and full of smiles.

A Bowl of Good is a wonderful community of compassionate food service workers who care for their patrons and each other. The food is delicious and locally sourced. I have worked here and I still return to eat here regularly. They are a staple of the Harrisonburg community, and a must see if you ever visit. (They also sell frozen meals and deliver across the country out of the back!!)

I have been enjoying A Bowl of Good for over a decade now. I love their little grab and go chia puddings, and after my first child was born their pre-made dishes in the refrigerator section kept my family fed through that big life transition. I have really happy memories of sitting in ABOG on cold winter days, cozy with some soup, and watching light flurries come down outside. I loved getting their cold brew when it was available. But what really got me hooked was the Saigon tofu gyro, called the bahn mi back in the day. IT IS SO GOOD. I no longer live a mile away- I live over a hundred miles away, and I make the trip up to Harrisonburg about twice a year to shop at Gift & Thrift and eat at A Bowl of Good- I need my good tofu gyro fix!!! Sadly, though, during my last visit in October, an alternative brunch menu was all I could choose from on a Saturday. I couldn't get my chips and had to get my gyro in deconstructed bowl form. Better than nothing, but not the usual fix. I'm returning Saturday and hoping things are back to normal so I can have my gyro and chips!! Fingers crossed. Please consider making this available on Saturdays. Love you guys.

A great healthy food spot that uses fresh local ingredients. The chicken was definitely the best part of the meal. Just beware that service can be a little slow due to the complexity of the dishes served there - however if you are in a rush, they have a grab and go section.

I got the maharaja bowl. Let me start by saying I’m Indian. And when I tell you this is the closest food I’ve had to traditional Indian food in the U.S I’m serious. It tastes 1:1 like it’s from india and it was really good! I highly recommend you try this bowl.

Perfect spot for a quick but very nutritious lunch. We made a detour on a whim with no regrets. The names for each dish were unique, and each represented the different cuisine well. Although it is mostly vegetarian, it caters well to vegans.

A great place to dine without regrets, reflux, or heartburn. Options are very healthy and align with Mediterranean diet and many others. Food is fresh and tasty, service is quick at brunch hours, and housemaid drinks have great flavor. It's a great place to eat less meat or try more vegetarian options like whole grains, tofu, and hearty vegetables. Most of the restaurant is geared towards environmentally conscious and reusable materials and the minimization of waste. There are takeout options available in coolers ready to go.

Lucked upon this delicious restaurant while shopping in Harrisonburg. So good and delightful folks working to make it a top eatery. Had the pasta bowl and the maharaja bowl and a huge muffin. Forgot to get a picture of the muffin!
